NHRA Hot Rod if ?
Yea, I'd definitely want RWD cars in there but I don't think you could just mix the two similar classes that they have now (Hot Rod and Modified). If you allowed a class somewhere between Modified and ProRWD, then the amount of RWD cars would be very small. Now if you allowed domestics in, well... then it'd allow far more cars. Don't know that the NHRA or the racers would be up for that though...

That's a handful of cars... at most. Take SportRWD for example. Ryan Woon and Cody Phillips, far as I've seen, have the quickest street tire Supras. Even when Cody does do SportRWD... how many events is he at? 2? 3?
Quick street-tire RX7s that do class racing and aren't powered by an LS1? How many are there? (sorry, not a Mazda guy)

This might be kinda off topic, But i think they should make SPFWD a pro class or let them run in the HOT ROD class. I think that would be awesome if they did something like that. cause the way its going now......why have a HOT ROD class for only 3 cars. Give the remaining 3 cars more turbo and reduced weight and let them run in PROFWD.
Eggum and Tram are running low 8 and high 7 why not let some Supras run.
The way I would do it its let the RWD car run with drag radial
Rules like the street tire class in Nopi.

i was going to say youre crazy but then i thought about the rwd and awd cars that ran in the idrc quick classes with the fwd cars. i dont know how many cars would actually show up but it may be interesting to have unibody rwd cars with aftermarket or gm trannys, gutted maybe with lexan and a reliable engine combo that can turn consistent low 8s might be fair. but realistically i dont think it would be very uniform and would confuse spectators. besides i think that more hot rod cars are on the horizon.

Keep the class FWD... people just need to bring cars out.
The forumals and parts are out there to build competitive cars, it's a matter of investing the time and money.
Before people start complaining about factory backed teams and this and that, remember.. HotRod is a PRO class. And with how competitive SportFWD is, you're going to see people pushing the envelope investing their time and money in it which just proves racing will always come down to budgeting and testing which is a fancy way of saying time and money...
There's Hot Rod cars out there, I can understand if there isn't enough money out there to run a full circuit, but with 3 cars running HotRod that guarantees anyone with a hotrod style car at least 4 passes at an event, exposure to fans, fellow racers, and potential sponsors.. and most importantly time and experience gained from having the car at the track. Or instead, you can just sit at home and bitch about classes, rules, and other cars...

Wait until ETOWN. its going to be what you dreamed about all year long. At least 6 cars will show up for etown. Still the same old 1/2 to a full second slower than the top dogs though. It was a horrible year. Theres usually a couple hotrod cars near each venue that come out for that one race making the class seem not so bad. But every track this year so far no locals showed up including me. We will be out at etown though turning some respectable #s. Hopefully

Roll Car of Hot rod cars that run the full season
1. Tran
2. Eggum
What happened to all those quick class cars from a few years ago? where is Kubos car? JJ olsen? Jo Jo? Where is Lances old car...? Crawford's car? Lummus old car or new car...i dont know whats going on with him. Bermea? Brian Jimenez old car?
Its cars out there that once competed. Where are they?
To make the class competitive I think you would have to kick tran and eggum out and bring the ETs back to the mid to high 8s.

Hot Rod will pick back up. Look how bad Pro FWD was 2 years ago...and this year it is amazing.
Like Jay Dirt said...there are tons of HR cars out there. I bet there's over 150+ that could run that class and a sizeable number of those are capable of being solid 8 second cars with a little help from teams that know what they are doing.

The sad part about that is that if people are going to make that financial commitment, they are going to look at other classes like Pro Stock and Pro Mod. Hopefully the success of Pro FWD this year keeps people interested in sport compact. I would like to see them give a hand to a handful of people trying to get their low 9 and high 8 cars a little quicker. It could be as simple as giving some pointers on setting up suspension.

Kicking people out isnt the solution lol
Its people who say they are all in, but don't deliver for whatever reasons.
Enough whining lol, bring what you have to the track and run it wherever you see fit and you are doing your part. Let the NHRA do theirs

Kicking people out is def. not the awnser but what about setting an index for the class so not 1 or 2 can run away from everyone else... How about an 8.50 class any quiker and you step up into pro front... I know that there are a lot of hot rod cars out there and would show up if this was the case.. Hell I would build a car for hot rod if this happend... It just makes it more of a competitive class and a lot more reliable... The strain it puts on the motors to run low 8's and 7's is a lot more than running 8.50's all day long... With the right chassis setup and motor program an 8.50 car could run all season on the same motor.. I think it would do great things
It would make it more of a DRIVER'S class than who ever has more money (sponsorship)

Thats not very fair then
cause Shep is in Hot-Rod times not Pro FWD , that class is running close to 6' seconds....
I doubt Shep will run NHRA and stick to Nopi where its more fair for the AWD guys
both street n Race class's
