Default Another retarded intake thread...

I just got my GSR swap last week, and the guy who installed it, threw this intake on there. He gave back the stock intake box. I'm wondering what difference would there be if I swapped back to the stock box, and used a drop in filter? The intake has a small hole in it near the throttle body. Thoughts and opinions?

Best results i have found myself are stockbox with bottom parts cut/taken out, and a K&N highflow filter.

the after market intake with nice air filter will make the car breath better if u have a nice exhaust system set up. but if there is a hole on the air intake pipe, see if u can cover it.is it a cracked hole or a hole that looks like a stud for a hose to plug in?

The hole looks like it was dropped on something and punctured slightly. I was thinking of the J's racing intake for the front bumper, and then some dryer hose to the stock box(modded). Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

dood the hole in the intake is for a sensor(cant remember the sensor off the top of my head) look around and see if you can find a sensor just lying down in there.

After spending useless amounts of money on intakes that dont do anything instead of thin my wallet I wish I would have made my own intake with a stock air box, K&N filter with an ebay intake tube. Grab some sheet metal and make your own lil air box, it may be fun

throw the stock box on
use the arm from your ghetto intake
remove the splash guard from your passenger side wheel well
trim the resonator until it looks like a snorkel
and enjoy.
