Yup, the SH was no slouch either back in the day. I believe car and driver named the 5th gen SH the best handling car under 30K.

If the prelude was 2600 pounds I dont think many would be able to afford it. Who would want a type R if the prelude had more power and the same weight.

Go check out SCCA solo results. The Type R is still a top contender in DS today. The prelude? not so much. We'll see if that changes next year with the MiniS being dumped into DS.

The Prelude handles so so well while being such a comfortable daily driver. This realization is the reason I came extremely close to selling my lude for an itr, but did not go through with it.

For autocross sure, but I think the Prelude is better suited as a road race car. With the rules as they stand in Honda Challenge, I think the Prelude stands a very good chance against the ITR in H2.

hmm. what if a 4th gen VTEC was added onto this competition? ATTS vs Double wishbone. that would be a good one.

The HC rules might favor a properly setup Prelude, but stock for stock I don't see how a Prelude has any chance against an ITR. The ITR is purpose-built vehicle, front to back, top to bottom. The Prelude is heavier, sprung more softly, etc. It was built more like a GT car from the factory..quiet, stable, etc.
