Default Rust-oleum 7769 Heavy Rusted Metal Primer

SO i went to the parts store, and could not find anything that would prevent rust from coming back. I went down to the homedepot and picked up a can of this stuff.

I had a very bad section infected with rust on my quarter panel under the passanger door on my ef sedan. I guess my question is, that this primer is a oil based nothing can be shot over it in the future right? cause it's oil based. or is it fine to sand it down, and use automotive primer, sealer then your normal ppg paint right over it.

Try a product like Ospho for a rust conversion. It's compatible with body shop materials.
