Toda cam tuners Look Inside!!!
Ok, this Thursday my car gets tuned and I was wondering if there are any tuning tips you can give me that will help me get these things tuned perfectly...cam settings fuel settings etc....anything will help (Spec C's)
i think you can leave the exhaust at 0 or retard it a bit.
most people advance the intake to 3 or 4 degrees but you just have to run it on a dyno to get the most out of it.
good luck man and post the numbers yeah?
i still have to get my **** tuned too but i have ctr cams.

Most people that I know advance the hell out of the intake cam... somewhere between 10 ~ 15 degrees. Retard the exhaust... a little at a time for finer tuning.
I thought Toda advise not to advance or retard the timing (exhaust or intake) past 5 degrees or you'll have clearance issues?

Start with this and then work around it...
VTEC 6800~7000
When the high cam kicks in add +4/+5 fuel
also add a tad bit fo fuel on the low cam between 3~5.5
start off with the ex cam @ 0 and the intake @ 0~+1
See if that works for ya'
it's a starting point at least
good luck

Seriously are you smoking too much crack or weed?
.....I'm at +15,-5 right now.
It all depends on what compression, pistons you're using.

I know someone else who was at ~ +5,-10 and was using ctr pistons.....
Not sure what settings would be good. But that is why you're going on the dyno!
I'm sure John knows what he is doing, and he'll treat you right.

On the cams that are advanced ~ 15 degrees, is it possible that the belts are one tooth off? I remember reading how many degrees each tooth is, and I assume it would be more than 15, but 15 degrees advance seems pretty excessive.
I had my spec B's at +5, -5 before I removed them...I didn't want to go farther than that as I had not pulled the engine apart and clayed the pistons and did not know what my upper limits were before piston-->valve contact.

Hey Austin,
When moving the cam gears did your tq curve move around? I can't move my tq around at all.

Yes I adjust fuel, but I always here of people moving tq curves around but I can't seem to do it. My exhaust cam is useless. It makes no power no matter what I do with it. My intake cam loves advance but the furthest I went was +4.
Ditto. (What Spec.R 00-0123 said)
Something is wrong there.

The last car I tuned was spot on at 0,0 as was shown by the PERFECT idle.
But after tuning was at +15, +10. Go figure
Listen to Steve. He knows what he is talking about.
Oh, and Steve.. about those ITR pistons you wanted for your B20 buildup, I have them in stock. Let me know if you want them in standard or oversized. LOL.
