Cam pulley not alligning - PIC/VID
Hi all, having some trouble with a mini-me, can anybody shed some light?
i have just finished building an a6/z6 mini me, with obd1 conversion and im yet to get it to turn over, or show any signs of turning over for itself. to confirm it does turn off the key but shows no sign of life
i can see and smell fuel on all 4 cylinder and this is what the spark looks like:
Very weak i think but can anybody confirm?

Im trying to eliminate some areas and hopefully you can help me eliminate the cam timing as a possible problem.
Engine - D16a6 with z6 internals and z6 head
The problem is my cam pulley looks like this:

At this point no1 is at TDC, Its on the compression stroke and the rotor arm points at number 1. if these 3 are correct does it matter that the cam pulley looks 90 degree off?
If i set the cam pulleys as per the manual firstly the rotor arm is always 1 out and secondly the Exhaust valves open on the downward compression stroke so i think its safe to assum thats wrong,
what do you think?
thanks

Get the cam aligned with the crank first. On the A6 the cam pulley is tilted alittle forward towards the front of the car. You see the "top" put that up and then you will see two marks that will line up with the head. Now move it one tooth counter-clockwise and put the belt on.
Then check out the dizzy the rotor should be pointing at the #1 spark plug wire post on the dizzy. Your #1 should be in the upper left post if looking at the dizzy from the passengers side.
1 3
2 4 for the A6 dizzy

2
3
4 For the z6 dizzy
I hope this works... EDIT: it didn't
A6 dizzy #1 is at 10 0'clock
z6 dizzy #1 is at 1 0'clock
