Default A cry for help... how difficult is it to install this 91 B16A motor into my EK?

My stupid brother bought the wrong motor, a 91 B16A with a Y1 cable tranny.

Aside from the Hydro to Cable conversion kit... what else would I need to make this running? I am desperate to get the car running since I need it for school and work. His friend who's doing most of the swap say to stop, sell the motor, and cut the losses... ah

If I were you, i wouldnt spend more money and get the cable->hydro conversion... Yes, I would sell it and get the right one, even if that means just selling the cable trans for a hydro one and using the longblock.

Or convert the whole chassis to cable clutch:

cheaper...

What would it entail in selling the tranny and getting a hydro tranny/clutch?

I would also need a new distributor right? This motor is OBD0.

Yes you need an obd2 distributor and the right ecu. Its not really more work or more money than an a2 or a3... Its the sensors and acc parts (ie= alt) that are more obd specific... The TB is bit different too.

Selling the tranny entails...selling the tranny and buying the right one.
I dont know what you want me to tell you. This forum has a great marketplace for stuff like that - search for WTB ads with people wanting a b16 cable trans, pm them and offer a price for yours.

You really should just smack the guy that bought the wrong one, you have a headache on your hands what with buying more/right parts to get it to work.
The longblock will work fine, but there are little things (that are kinda expensive) that are needed to get it to work in your chassis.

Depending on what you want to do (which seems to be that you just want the stupid car to run) you probably are better off selling the entire swap, take a decent loss and buy the right swap next time
