The car doesn't move in any gear it is put in. In fact, when its in park, the car rolls. The parking paw doesn't catch. When I place the tranny in any of the forward gears, I can hear a noice like something is rotating and maybe even grinding, but the car doesn't move. This auto transmission is a used one that was installed 6 months ago. What could be wrong?

 

DId you happen accidently put the car in park while it was still rolling?

Theres a few threads around here about how to test the auto transmission with holding the break and puttin the throttle to the floor. maybe someone who knows this method will chime in,
