Default Octane rating between UK and US

When doing research for my build, can i compare octane ratings like for like between what you guys get in the US and what i get here in the UK?

ie. Will a 97 octane fuel be the same in your country as it will be over here if that makes sense?

No.
We use the Ron or Research octane number where as over there they use the Pump octane number which if iirc is a calculated from both the motor octane number and the research octane number.
You should be able to find a chart which compares the motor octane, Research octane and pump octane numbers

Difference between Europe and USA is 4-5 points, our 97 will be the same as 92-93 in the USA.

BP can suck my *****!!

The nearest shell to me is about 20 miles away so a bit of a trek everytime i need to fill up. My tuner recomended filling up with 99 then using an octane booster to raise it up to 101.

Do you think i will run into knocking issues on 99 ron? (H22 11.5:1)

Should not be a problem to run that on regular 98. I run my 2.1 with 12.3:1 on 98. But that of course depends on your tune.
