A/C compressor clutch sheared off?
Okay, so I'm driving down a smooth country road, doibg about 60, when I hear a loud crash and something hitting the underside of my car. I look in the rear view and don't see anything and slow way down to see if something is rolling out from the car out back. Within a few minutes the a/c air starts getting warm. I pull over and check under the hood and the clutch assy from the a/c compressor is gone! The bolt has sheared off flush.
Can this be fixed without removing the compressor and evacuating my freon?

Kinda sounds like you'll need a new compressor. Even if you won't need a new one you'll probably want to remove the compressor to try and remove the broken bolt, which includes evacuating the system. Got any pics?
