i have a 99 civic, d16y5 motor , the motor has a egr and a 5 wire o2 sesor. i wanna get rid of that stuff so i bought a skunk 2 harness to convert to 0bd1. no go. the 99-00 hx has a diff wiring harness, question is can i get a 99-00 ex motor harness ? will thaT WORK?

The only ECU that is going to operate that engine properly is the ecu that came with it.

The reason why it has a 5 wire wideband O2 sensor is so that it can run the motor lean (the y5 was specially designed to run lean under light load w/out detonation) and get you crazy gas mileage.

 

well the car is boosted right now. what can i do to get rid of that ecu. 99-00 ex wiring harness correct? then use my obd2b to obd1 coversion haress with my crome p28?
