Default Shop truck project. More Pics added!

We just started messing around with our beat up ol Mitsu shop truck. We were just going to do a simple back half chassis with four link... but now its turned into a full body drop project. Anyhow here are some pics.

how do you have the bottom bag mount setup. does it bolt threw the main 4link bar and is the other little bar just a stablizer.

Technically its a five link. Regular tri-link without the little links. Anyhow the little links are a new thing we are trying to keep the the bag perfectly up and down during its use, so it does not have the accordion effect and cause bag wear. Longer lasting bags.

thanks i actually just got my truck on the road today. its a 98 dodge ram full size nothing specail just 4linked with bags. i do like the idea about getting the bags to stay vertical for the wear issues. keep posting update pics. you dont see to many minis builds on the net with detail i mean. and thanks for the complement i try to stay ontop of updating it but keep looking at it. ill get pics of what we work on up to date as i can.

Oh man, let's hope not, because that would be a disaster.

Yes the bar in the center moves up and down, along with the four on the bottom. The bridge that has the bag mounts on it stay in place.

i get the idea of it moving up and down, but does it move in and out. from what im looking at it seems as though there would be a certain point that it would bind ??

That would result in the axle being able to move freely back and forth pivoting around the lower arms.

That would snap the u-joint going into the pumpkin.

It's basically a 4-link with two of the links joined on the top of the pumpkin.

Nope, it does not move in and out. Again this is a tri-lnik setup, the small links on the bottom of the big lower links are there for the sole purpose of keeping the bag vetical. We are able to set the pinion angle with the threaded ends on the links, so nothing binds.

The 2x4's under the wheels are to simulate a 22" wheel with tire.

Thinking maybe a 4.8 Chevy motor out of a '07 Truck.

Personally, having been in the DSM / 4g63 community for years, I think a 4G63 in that thing would be sick!

Yeah I agree, but the Chevy motor is already sit here ready to run. In some cases the 4G63 bolts up to some of the Mighty Max transmission. I wanna say the '94 and up.

Good deal. Sometimes you got to stay within the budget! I like the stock escalade wheels. But you really need some LeBron's on that ****.
