whats the best thing i can do computer wise to a d17a1 kpro or chipping the d17 ecu

you can only piggyback off the D17. if you want to go krpo, you need a RSX ecu

True, but it still requires a K-series ECU.

has anyone used it with an NA/turbo set up and if so seen any results worth paying for?

Kpro v. e-mangle is 10+ HP easily.
