Default help with clutch!!!

I have a 94 eg wit a b18b1, I have a problem with shifting into gears. I cant get the shifter in gear i have to shove it in gear an sometimes it wont even let me shove it in gear, so i have to turn the car off an then it goes in gear easily. I already checked my cluth fluid an checked to make sure i had no air in wit my fluid. Can it be that i need a new clutch??? It never started grining but that does not mean its not my clutch just because it never slipped right??? Thanks for all help

Clutch is worn, you need a new one.
The pressure plate splines are worn out, which doenst let the clutch engage/disengage easy, making it harder to get in/out of gears.

Semi thread jack.

If the pressure plate is worn. Could it prevent the car from engaging one or two gears, even when the car is turned off?

Yeah i was thinking it was the pressure plate springs. Is the xtd six puck clutch a good one to go wit?

Not neccessarily. I cant explain the science of exactly why, but i do know, when my OEM clutch reached its ending point, i had the same problem, it when when the car was off, it never really mattered. Its all cause nothings moving most likely.

Is this a cable or hydro clutch, I'd guess hydra, in which case it could be the slave cylinder.

a puck clutch would be insane on a dd.

If it's a stock motor I recommend oem replacements or something like the Exedy Organic stage one.

What's your setup? No need for a crazy clutch unless your boosted.

I don't think you're benefiting from a race clutch with a stock motor.

A stage one exedy will be plenty for any Honda motor with bolt on's. Anything above that is just overkill. Though if you like a stiff clutch, by all means, get one.

If it's a mild (sprung) 6 puck then it probably isn't so bad. Is your current clutch sprung or unsprung?

when you can't engage the gears, or have trouble while the car is running, but can when you turn the car off, it means it's a faulty clutch. If you have trouble selecting gears no matter if the car is on or off, it mean you have transmission problems. Original poster- replace your clutch.

^^

Though rare, if your tranny had a leak and you have 0 fluid in your trans, it also wont go into gear.

Happened to my truck and my last civic when the tranny case was leaking.

There's nothing wrong with having a 'race' clutch on a stock car, it's not going to hurt it. All i'm saying is it's a tad overkill. If you don't mind working your foot that hard then by all means go for it. It's just most people don't want an unsprung clutch to daily drive.

Your car would be just as fast with a milder clutch.

X2, theres no need to spend the extra money when something like an Exedy stage 1 would suit you just fine. Put the money you save towards something uselful
