I don't have any direct experience with the probe rods. With that said I would stay with the proven Carrillo,Crower,Eagle,or Scat rods.I'm not sure why you don't want the h beam rods .My guess is the weight and if that's the case than the Carrillo a beam would be the choice. And remember if you plan to run an oem piston they would need to be modified (clips) to use an aftermarket rod.

Carillo a beams are nice but expensive the weight is the reason i dont want to run h beams if i did i would use eagle. Maybe ill use stock ls rods resized with arps and balanced they list two different sizes 8mm and 9. But the 9s are listed for b18c and b16 will they work with the ls rods?

The 8mm and the 9mm are different lengths also. You will need to use the 8mm ones.I'm guessing you will need to turn over 8500 to get the hp you looking for.I wouldn't recommend the ls rods for those rpm's.

good stock ls rods with arps are good enough for 9k. as long as oil clearance are good.

I cracked two valve guides so im doing a build now. S2s2 cams, eventually pro 2s, edelbrock victor x, gsr block, ls crank i would rather over build the bottom end then not enough looks like eagles or manleys on cast pistons thanks for all the advice.
