Front rotors on a 1997 Honda Accord LX
Thanks honda-kid42, but do you know if the hub nuts are right hand or left hand thread. We can`t get the hub nut to break loose. We`ve busted 2 rachets and a breaker bar already.
regular. So lefty loosey. righty tighty.
Did you unstack that little dent on the nut. Follow the instructions from <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by honda_kid42 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">took me 2 seconds to find this!!!!

That helped me. Use some PB blaster if it's too hard. And I suggest renting an air gun or any impact gun. Short burst should help you. My car broke a breaker bar....

haha, you talking about the axle nut?
if so, I remember breaking a couple 1/2" drive ratchets and and 1/2" drive breaker bar. I was using the handle from my aluminum jack and finally got a steel pipe and was finally able to break it free. I think the aluminum pipe was flexing too much and wasn't getting that torque to the ratchet like I should have been. Either way, using a 1/2" drive breaker bar and a steel cheater pipe has worked great, since then, for breaking axle nuts free.

ok,
am replacing my wheel bearings on my 94 accord, problem is the two out of four bolts that are in the back of the steering knuckle were broken, so i went to take off the remaining two, one broke off the other one came off, but the hub plus bearing did not come off and the rotor is loose but i can't remove it, someone have any ideas on what to do.

Man you guys are lucky. The thing broke my breaker bar...

I had some trouble seperating the wheel bearing/hub from the knuckle. Since you are replacing the bearing, hammer it out with all your might. Use the axle nut socket to help you push it out. I know a sledge hammer will do the trick. Worst come to worst, you can either....
-get a hub and bearing pre-assembled
-or press it out.

well, the knuckle is out, basically knuckle/hub/rotor/bearing all in one big piece, like i said in my OP all three nuts broke and the rotor spins but nothing is seperating, anyway i haven't had a chance to get to it cause by the time everyhing was off the car it got dark, so i'll think of something, and try the sledge hammer and i'll search, but if anyone has inputs please post. thanks
I forgot if i use a sledge hammer i'll destroy my rotor so it will not work.

you dont need to hit the rotor, just hit the bearing from the back side of the knuckle. This should help drive it out unless it's rusted in there REALLY good. Mine were when I replaced my rotors so I had to have them separated at a shop with a press. This isn't always required but in extreme cases it sometimes is.
