Prelude 6 speed Tranny
I have a 93 Honda Prelude with an H22, I was wondering is there anyway to fit a 6-speed tranny in it. Its a daily driver for now but it will become a car that I take out to the drag strip on the weekends. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Or should just stick with the 5 speed.
Isn't it true that with a drag car, you want maybe 4 speeds (if you're allowed alternate transmissions or transmission modifications in your class)? I always thought it was the shifting that takes a lot of time, so 4 gears would be better than 5 or 6 on a drag car. Perhaps I'm wrong?
As for a 6 speed, you can buy one from Quaife and get a custom bell housing made. The Quaife 6 speed is a sequential dog box, so it's basically a racing transmission. It does come with a Quaife LSD in it, though. Price? Eh, $18k or so.

^^no kidding
I love it when my dad tells me the stories about his old 454 camaro with a 2speed powerglide working over a bunch of blown stangs and such, while they're shifting he's just throwing down the tq.
