Default a/c bracket... and a ps question

ok i'm removing a/c and p/s for turbo... my ignition column is FUBAR'd so another one is on the way won't be here until wednesday so i have time to get this **** ripped out.

i've got all the underhood a/c items out. but i can't get the damn evaporator out i'm keeping the heater element and blower motor for those cold *** winters.

got a few questions

i got all the a/c components out except the evaporator.

1.)is the ac compressor bracket a mount of some sort??? because it is bolted to my frame on the drivers side..

2.)i'm removing ps and i'm just gonna pump the rack full of grease and loop the lines... will i have to drop the rack out of the car to do this?

3.)how the expletive do i get my evaporator out without taking out the heater element at the same time... they're in the same damn box.... wdf they haynes manual i have sucks at explaining this.

yes, i suggest you keep that bracket and tq mount. dohc vehicles that come w/o ac, such as the ctr still use that setup but with an empty bracket.

2.)i'm removing ps and i'm just gonna pump the rack full of grease and loop the lines... will i have to drop the rack out of the car to do this? manual rack FTW. it's pretty easy though it will require a realignment

if i'm understanding you correctly, i'd leave it, honestly..</TD></TR></TABLE>

haha don't have the time or money for a manual rack... all my money is going into boost right now... so i'm just gonna get some grease and rip all the ps **** outta there and loop the lines and call it a day...

The AC I can see if the turbo doesn't fit in the area where the condenser is, but why rip out the PS?

cause i already have a hole in one of my ps lines and it's pissing me off.... plus i had to custom make my charge pipes and the ps pump is in the way of them because the 14b turbo compressor housing faces upwards and the charge pipes have to go right where the pump is...

plus i don't like power steering anyways. i want a better feel

when you rip out the evaporator box from under the dash you will need to replace it with a tube that came on cars that didnt come with a/c its a direct bolt in.
