Ok guys i went to crank the motor today to do a compression test to see how everything is (just built motor). Well last week i cranked it over and all went fine however today i went to crank it and POP. So i go out and check all my connections. It sounded as if something shorted to ground. All the power feeds to the starter were tight and good. So i got my DMM out and started checking for resistance and continuity. The power cable off the battery to the starter and wire to the fuse box were fine. I also check my gound and all had continuity with good resistance readings .2 ohms on most of the ground side and .5 on the postive side, battery to starter and .2 starter to fuse box ( i have the battery in the trunk). The battery has 12.58 volts in it. I get power and have the fuel pump prime. Anyway i kept checking things and hearing that pop. So i discontected the negative off the battery and a few mins later attacthed it again. This time i get power and fuel pump primes however no sound at all when i go to turn it over just the fuel pump priming the whole time i hold the key down. Im assuming its something in the ignition circuit because it seems like everything is good. Also i checked all the fuses and they all are good. What do you guys think ?
