I have a 5 speed tranny and for some reason my reverse lights don't work. they never worked since i got the rex. But i did put a new tranny and motor in it and the fuses are good or at least they should be. How can i fuix them. even if i have to run new wires. how do i do it.

if there is no voltage then the switch on the trans is bad if there is voltage then the ground is bad or both of your bulbs are burnt out.

remember put it in reverse with the car off.

ok i have a meter that has a big **** to turn on it..it has been a long time since i had to work one... wat setting do i put it on to messure for power.

Set it to the "10V" voltage setting, which will give you readings in the 10s of volts. If there's power to the wire you're testing, it should read around 12 volts.

 

Or if its multi-meter, you want to set on to DC/v.

 

ok i tested the wires by the light bulbs and up at the tranny and i got no reading at all and yes the key was on and the tranny was in reverse. but i just remembered my car also stays running if u leave it in reverse only reverse and turn the key off. It wont turn off untill u take it out of reverse gear. what would be wrong.
