My '02 CRV is giving me an issue with the tailgate. The door is closed, but the dash indicator says it is still open. I have taken the switch off to ensure that the connection was intact and functioning properly and looked around the door frame for anything that may have been preventing a proper seal and nothing has worked. Can anyone give me an idea as to my next step?

 

replace the switch, or wrap some black tape around the switch part that contacts the door. 5 rounds should do it
