Flooded

Flooded
Hi all. So my car got flooded couple days ago. I don't have any mechanical issues. Check engine light is on but it's an o2 sensor. Only problem is my door sensor. Rear passenger side door is closed but it shows that it's open all the time. It goes on and off by itself sometimes but it doesn't matter what I do. Any ideas what I can do? Thanks a lot.

Re: Flooded
Probably an issue with the door switch. Whichever door that is indicated as open, exam the door switch. Open the door, in the door jamb on the car body is a door switch covered by a black rubber grommet. Press the switch several times to see if there is a change in the interior lights (dome light).
If no change in the interior lights or dash indicator, gently pry the center rubber cap off the door switch. The switch is held in with one screw. Remove screw and pull out the switch, disconnect the electrical connector from behind. Try cleaning the switch contacts and body metal. See if that fixes it.
If not, use a spare piece of wire and ground the switch wire to bare metal. If the dash indicator indicates the door is closed, then it is either the switch or still an issue with the body metal where the switch contacts.
