wow. I must be underestimating these oem rods
Any body think we'll have trouble with these holding up to a set of pro2's with 12.0:1 compression?

No problem there. Sounds like your build is similar to a user on here named D-Rob. Check out some of his posts.
8500 on my ls. dyno it and see where it stops making power. no point in reving the **** out of it if there nothing to be had.

Don't worry, I know where these cams make their power as we have done several builds with them, but those were all using aftermarket rods. I just need around 9.1-9.2k of rpm available and want to see what kind of abuse people have been getting away with using ls rods.
So everyone vouches that they'll hold up?

look up user backdraft.. he was running them to 9500 all day long.. 11.96 @ 112 in the 1/4 mile
oem build 1.8
oem build 1.8
i reved my old setup to 9200 and it was fine for 2 years . it usaully not the rod itself that gives up its the bearing or rod bolts can stretch if there oem.

to projectef:
just dyno it and see where u powerband drops out. if u dont make any power above 8500 than dont rev above 8500. its a simple as that. everyone here is saying that they hold up to 9+ so i dont think u would have a problem. DYNO it and see where ur making ur power.
