Default Need Help, some problems with my Integra and need some suggestions.....

Ok, I bought a 94 LS sedan and it's having some damn problems already. First thing, on the highway home driving from the place I bought it from, the freaking heater hose exploded! I looked in the engine and there was water all over the engine and it squirted onto the wind shield. On the end where its connected to the side of the engine, there was a huge gash with smoke coming out.

Another problem is, the oil light is coming on and I just got done changing the oil hoping it'll fix the problem. I turned on the car and drove around the block and the oil light still is on and just driving around the block is making the car overheat. I popped the hood and can really feel the engine over heating. I saw the radiator fans spinning and all and I feel the air blowing at me which is weird cause that I never felt that with any car before.

What do you guys think can be the problem? What do I gotta check or fix? I bought a new thermostat also but I don't think that's gonna fix anything. Help me out! Thanks!

Are you throwing any CEL's? Just replace that heater hose and then properly burp the system. For your oil light, I would suggest if all other things don't help, you might need to check out your oil pressure sending unit.

okay how many miles on you 94LS??? when did you last got a new T-belt & water pump change? that can cause your overheating. Have you bleed the Radiator after you replace the heater core? what thermostats are you using? OEM Honda or cheapo Auto Zone? Oil pump replace YET?? check your oil level?

No I'm not throwing any cel and yesterday I went to both Pep Boys and Auto Zone looking for a new heater hose and they didn't have it so I just had to cut the end of the heater hose until the part that gashed open wasn't there anymore.

There's about 140K miles on the car. I really don't think this guy replaced anything on the car since he had it. Looks like I"ll have to get new timing belt, water pump, and all that stuff. I bought a thermostat from Auto Zone, Duralast brand. I guess that was a bad idea huh?

I kinda did look milkshake like when I replaced the oil cause the oil was pretty dark.

I couldn't find a heater hose for my integra at autozone either, had to end up getting it from Acura. But I just had the same thing happen. The heater hose right behind the top radiator hose was apparently really crispy and blew out a nice split on the face of it. Really easy to replace though, I think the new hose was like $24 from the dealership.

agree, he should check if water is going into his cyclinder walls or if compression is going to radaitor, if there is you will see airbubbles or oil in the radiator
hope this helps

It may be the oil pump. When I turn on the car, I hear a noise coming from it. How can you tell if your oil pump is dead?
