Default Just Purchased 91 Integra with b18c1 BUT...

The weird thing about it is that the head is From and LS. I don't know why they did this but That is what i got in the car so far. I was wondering If i should still run the car Like and LS meaning rev limit or can i Rev more,Also what would be the down side of this setup besides no vtec?

if it has a gsr transmission the rev limit is 8k so technically you can rev it that high but I don't know how well the head would hold up since ls redline is 6.8k, also you dont have vtec so reving that high is kind of obsolete

Why would the tranny matter as far as the rev limit is concerned? The reason why i'm asking is I might go turbo so if the LS head can take more rev then I would push it a lil more once i'm boosted.

wouldn't rev past 6800 high possibilty that the rocker arms may come out of place.... not to mention the possibilty of valve float

rev higher than the stock ls limit and you'll find out first hand what valve float is

atleast the pistons and rods are made to rev higher. im an ls guy myself but one downside other than just not having VTEC is that the ls head overall doesnt flow as good as the gsr. someone probly took the head to make an lsVTEC and then put the unwanted ls head onto the gsr block. wut ecu is it?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kellogg97rs &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">if it has a gsr transmission the rev limit is 8k so technically you can rev it that high but I don't know how well the head would hold up since ls redline is 6.8k, also you dont have vtec so reving that high is kind of obsolete</TD></TR></TABLE>

thats completely wrong you could rev to 8k with an LS tranny without any problems to the transmission. the motor would be a different story assuming its an LS.

a gsr block with an LS head yikes. youd be fine using the stock LS redline and thats it. it must be slow as ****.
