Default Please help quick.

I threw a rod in my 97 civic dx d16y7 and have been looking for a replacement.

I just found a 95 integra GSR that was wrecked on the front for 750$. It has the b18c1, only thing is, its an AUTOMATIC.

I need to know what i would have to do to be able to use it in my 97 civic Manual. WOuld i have to buy a new tranny and just bolt it right to the motor? Could i just change that tranny from auto to manual ? plz help asap, this deal wont last long

thank u

You'll need a manual transmission, the correct ECU, you'll need Integra linkage, and axles. Not too bad considering you've got an awesome motor now.

ok, since im getting the whole car, will that come with everything but the manual tranny + the right ecu? So the linkage / axles will be pulled off the integra and i can just put them in my civic? sorry for all my newb questions >_<

and i think i will need to remove the driveplate from the motor and install a flywheel correct?

How much will the tranny / ecu / whatever else i need cost generally?

I do not believe there is such a thing as a usdm gsr automatic.

500-1000 on the tranny.
The ecu pricing will depend on if you want to stay obd2 or do a conversion(obd2-obd1) with a chipped/programmable ecu. Remember emission testing.
If you stay obd2 and convert the motor to obd2 you will need a distributor and the rest of the obd2 stuff.
I would buy a brand new flywheel.

There is more that you will need but I am tired of typing. Search around some for obd2a-obs1 conversion how-to's.

im still not believing you found a usdm gsr auto. maybe someone swaped a b18c1 into an ls and kept it's auto tranny.

ugh... So i guess the picture of the car / motor the guy gave me is just "SIMILAR" to his. turns out, upon reviewing the new real pics its the b18b1... At this point, its not even worth the money/time/effort right?

I can get a JDM d16 that will bolt right to my car for 395 + 175 shipping. comes with block / head intake exhaust manifolds tb dizzy etc (no new tranny ) from hmotorsonline. I really wanted to go for a better motor but at this point, ive quit my job cause i live too far away from it and without a car = no thx walk. heh but do you think the jdm d16 will be my better option right now? they can have it to me by friday. Or should i keep looking around and hopefully find something for -600 $ (all i have to spend atm)

BTW here is a link to the actual pictures of the Acura

yeah, definitely not a gsr auto.

b18b1 is nice though, but for 750 Frosty's you could get a b18b locally for less.

i would get it, take the motor out and part the car out. after your done selling the peaces you could take the frame in and scrap it at a metal yard. or if ya have enough money fix it, manual swap it and have a nice teg.
