Default older style accord bogging until 3k. HELP PLEASE

idk if this is a common problem but my buddy came up to me today and asked my what may cause a bogging down of his accord (90-93??), its non vtec. head gasket, valve cover gasket are new. supposedly until about 3k rpm's it boggs down and then at around 3k it takes off... anyone ever heard of this? ANY input would be nice.

thanks in advance

Check your fuel pump. It could be sticking.

Ok. I think i might be having the same problem, but I don't understand what you mean by bogging down.

i Have a 96 accord automatic, and I notice it shifts gears a little after 3k... my tranny was rebuilt about 2 years ago, after it died 2 weeks after a tranny flush... also full tuneup was done less than a year ago
