Default My $50 paint job EG6 Civic

This was my car after experimenting with Rustoleum Professional Smoked gray paint (1Gallon) mixed with regular gloss black rustoleum (1quart)... Just to make the color darker, cause I wanted my car to be a dark color at the time... Yes, I Rolled it on...

After some hoodlums decided to fight my car and not me they did a number on my hood and windshield... I had the windshield replaced 2x and i had an extra hood that was damaged during shipment from japan but it still fits just a little bent by the hinges... Another guy I know also bought a hood form the same company that had similar damage, Fedex couldnt do shiet about it cause it was not packaged properly... WhATEVER! Here is the black hood...

After a few months of driving it like that I got tired of looking at it all multi toned colored I decided to paint it back to white... I used Rustoleum Gloss White Professional... Here is the beginning... I tried the hood first...

After I got the hang of it I used a DA sander and scuffed up the paint some and did some body work, the body work isnt the greatest but it was my first time...

I did a 2 coats all over the car then called it a night... Today I wet sanded the car with 320, then re-coated it again... Tomorrow after work I plan on wet sanding with 600... and then recoat it again... Here is the end of todays results...

Not bad and keep up the good work. Be sure to let the paint fully dry when your buff and polish or you will burn through the paint like I did.

well decided to start from the beginning because my paint was too thick... now im like the paint much better... cant post pics cause weather has been crappy layely... I just got laid off so plenty of time to work on my paint now... lol... Also I got a drying agent called "Japan Drier" looks like this:

Anyone tried it? I only used 2 caps in my mix (instructions say 3 caps for every gallon I think)... I didnt want to put too much just in case of discoloration... but it works great and dries fast in Floridas' damp weather... just my 2 cents...

My mix was basically eyeballed... I got a gallon of Professional Rustoleum Gloss White got some mineral spirits, pour out some white til i got it to the watery consistency, and I mean watery watery. The first few time I made the mixture too thick but i think i go it right this time... its probably thicker than water, but it has to be cause its paint...

well Someone I know, asked me to drop his car... turns out he needs new axles cause the boots are torn in half... he kept asking me to use duct tape... He was pissing me of... then the nikka decides to try and turn the pole on my 6 ton floor jack while I was disconnecting the brake and that shiet almost crushed me... luckily I wasn't under the car... He did have any tools... ill post of mines are mixed up... it was a terrible night... except for the fact that i got to do 2 more coats on my hood... time to smoke and see what else i can work on now... ill post pics of my painting progress when I'm done wet sanding...
