Any Opinions on 5w-20 Oil in a K20 Engine.....
This may not directly relate to the ITR's but there seems to be lots of knowledge about oil from members of this board. Would you guys use 5w-20 in a K20 engine as recommended by Honda. I know the engine tolerances have been built around the oil and it may be good for a hp or two, but to me that stuff sounds as thin as urine. I am sure Honda is pushing that oil for fuel efficiency reasons mostly, I would feel better running 5w-30 as I plan on keeping the car for a few years. I have always run 10w-30 in my B-series engines, but I don't think the K20 will respond well to 10w-30, so I am thinking maybe 5w-30 would be a better choice, any opinions on this ?, any reply would be interesting. thanks.

CHOCOLATE MILK,and thats no joke.I never pulled oil that bad out of my old JRSC Si....This crap was BROWN,DARK BROWN and watery.........I know honda says 3500 on the break in oil,but there was no way in HELL i was gonna leave that stuff in any longer than 2K.Im glad i pulled it out after seeing how it looked
