H22 Not going in Gear
I just dropped my H22 with a freshly rebuilt tranny from gear speed into my car so i know the tranny is good. I can shift into every gear when the car is off but once i start her up i can't get it into any gear. It also has a new clutch and flywheel. Anyone know what the problem might be?
*edit* Oh, and if i put it into first or reverse while the car is off and then turn the car on, even if i have the clutch in the car wants to slightly move forward in first or backwards in reverse, i have to hold the brake to keep it from moving, kinda like an automotic i suppose. So i can drive like that but then i can't get it outa gear again until i turn the car off. ALSO, when i'm driving and i have the clutch all the way in if i step on the gas it makes me accelerate rather then just rev the engine up. Hope this helps the diagnosis. Thanks ahead of time

i bled the clutch line, i know i did that right. It has fresh tranny fluid in it. And...adjust the master cylinder? What do you mean?

this just makes the clutch engage sooner when the pedal is pressed right? I did this and still have the same problem. Could it maybe be my pressure plate on to tight? My friend had a similar problem and it was his pressure plate but it was just hard for him to get into gear. I can't get into gear at all. I think i torqued down the pressure plate to spec but it was a long time ago so i can't be 100% certain. Or what else could it be? Any more ideas are greatly appreciated.

lol @ that pm dude...glad to help
the pressure plate being on too tight would not cause a problem like this.
the reason your car is acting like that is that the clutch is not fully disengaging. There are only a few things that can cause that:
1)clutch system not adjusted properly so the clutch fork is not being pushed down far enough
2)throwout bearing not installed or installed incorrectly
3) the clutch fork *could* be messed up but I REALLY doubt that.
have someone sit in the driver seat and watch the slave cylinder push the clutch fork as he moves the pedal, it should move at least an inch. take a video of that if you can and post it.

clutch system not adjusted properly? How do i adjust that? Cause that seems to be the problem is that the clutch fork isn't being pushed down enough. The throwout bearing is installed correctly unless something happened while we were jiggling the tranny around to get it on. And i sure hope gear speed woulda said something if my clutch fork was messed up, lol. We did take a look at the slave cylinder pushing the clutch fork and it was moving, i don't remember how much. I'll have to take another look at that and see if i can get a vid up. And thanks for the help

Alright, so today we found out that with the car jacked up and the wheels in the air i can get it into every gear but really rough. The reason this seems to be is because the wheels are receiving power even when the clutch is in or in neutral. I can also shift roughly into gears when im driving. So when the wheels are spinning i can kinda shift into gears but when my wheels are stopped and i'm at a stand still i cant get it into gear. Still sound like the throwout bearing? Oh and the clutch fork looks to be getting pushed down plenty. It just seems to be something about getting power when its not supposed to...but i don't know why...

Smh I’m going thru the saaame thing. Car did it before I changed clutch, flywheel, slave and master cylinder, checked tranny fluid and properly bleed clutch… twice.. so did anyone ever figure it out? 👀
