Default Kinda of random.....about Toyota 4runner...

This guy wants to trade his 4runner for my car, but he said the ignition is jacked up because he broke it. Told me he is the original owner and has title, etc so he didnt steal it.

But what do I have to do to replace the ignition part he broke?? Can I just grab one from a junkyard?

any suggestions would be great, thanks. Came here cause I got a rex

Really.

Ask on a 4 runner site, I know they have them.

yeah I just found one

its a 97 with 130k though.

Came here because I am wondering what you would do if this happened to your honda, since im sure the way you would fix, would be the same way the 4runner needs to be fixed.

Depending on which part of the ignition is broken, buy a replacement part and replace it.

What kind of answer were you looking for?

you know how someone jacks a car?? Like the whole knife in ignition deal, well thats what it seems like to me. But im confused on what part to replace, and how that works if I get something from a junkyard....wont the one from the junkyard only work with that key and not mine?? I get confused with ignition and wiring.

Yes, you'll need to change the key to make sure it works in the new ignition.
