A/C problem?!? The compressor is not kicking in... any ideas??
I have a 1994 integra LS. Running 10 lbs of boost. The a/c has worked before, and now it just stopped working, kinda of out of the blue.
I checked all the fuses, they are all good, and i checked grounds, thats also fine. The horn was acting up on me as well, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, so i thought it was a ground problem.
Its a older car, so i can't just get more refrigerant and put it in on my own, because i thought maybe its not cycling because it has no freon.
Im open for any subjections, and i i will look at anything you may think is the problem. i am driving her home tonight (3.5 hours) and i really wish i had a/c.

well if your low on freon or have no freon in the system the clutch wont activate.
if you have some r134a manifold gauges, you can hook them up and check your low and high side pressure readings and see how much freon if any you have in the system......if the system just quit working on you out of the blue, you may have a leak somehwere, which is sometimes a pain in the *** to find...

well, heres something else... The horn and the siren are not working.. The siren is factory, and neither one works, alone with the a/c. I ran a wire right from the battery to the compressor, and it kicked in, so that rules out a few things. I didn't run it long at all, because if all the freon did leak out, its not good to run it dry.
But because the horn and siren don't work, it makes me think something else is wrong...
I can hear the click of the horn relay when i hit the button inside as well.
If is was a bad ground problem, running a power wire from the battery wouldn't turn on the a/c, right?
Any other ideas or help with this would be great.... Its still hot out, and i want to be able to honk at stupid people who don't see the green light!!

if im not mistaking i dont think theres a ground to you compressor its just grounded through its housing to the motor, some 94 model vehicles have 134a in them, if not you can change it over with a kit from just about any parts store for around $35.
