I have stock 91 crx...replaced piston rings and put engine back together...was running perfect before taking apart...engine idles perfect and now when i rev the engine it wont rev past 3500 rpms... it will bog out and bounce off the 3500 rpm mark and wont rev any higher...can someone out there help me figure this thing out...
what I have done:
-ive checked and rechecked the timing
-replaced the dizzy, cap and rotor
-ecu not throwing any codes at all (ecu is stock, same as engine)
need some help im stumped...

i kinda have same problem, but never really replaced anything, just head gasket, when i give little less than half throttle, it will bog down at around 3, and jerk you all crazy forward.....
nope... still searching... my auto shop teacher said it might be tps, map sensors, or just lack of fuel, in my situation, its probably fuel... but im still trying to find problem for sure...

yep, i gots some white/grey smoke, but for some reason, no more bogging down, randomly went away.... maybe i dont drive it enough? haha, i just changed my hg though very recently, i upgraded to a y8 metal with the middle layer cut out etc....
lol happened to my friend with his one car the tranny was messin up and he parked it for a few days and it works now.
but i would definatley do a pressure check, you dont want all that coolant in your blcok and seize it up... better safe than sorry
edt: i just realized you changed it recentley, if metal head gaskets have a scratch it might still affect something. i know on my dads race car a scratch from a finger nail made it leak.
or maybe just pour some stop leak or something in it? it is definatley burnng coolant though...

Double check the wires to the dizzy. My sister-in-laws started doing this too month or so after I soldered her dizzy wires (different dizzy, not stock) and my shitty skills failed me. I looked at the wires and one was disconnected.
Good Luck!

well on mine the ecu is not throwing a code...i put on a fresh head gasket and the coolant is filled..but the moisture only comes out the exhaust when first started up after warms up then nothing...there is no smoking at all...idles perfect..i have no idea what can cause this...im going to go home and try the disconnect of the batter and see if that will reset the ecu...
i always disconnect batt when car is gonna be sittin for few days, usually go and charge it up or something, so yeah, maybe thats what fixed my problem, haha, in few weeks will be doin compression test...
