Default help on retainers and valvesprings

i dunno how to make the title very specific.

I am planning to get rocket motorsports M22x cams, but i want to send my head down to portflow for full head work. My question is: Would it be okay to use their components (portflow retainers and valvesprings) with the M22x cams or should i use the rocket motorsports valvesprings and retainers to go with these cams?

as long as you upgrade your springs and retainers i dont see a problem....but if you can get the same components from them, do it...blox,skunk2,ETC..all of these should be fine...!!!

Portflow should have no issue assembling the valvetrain of your choice.

I would prefer to match the valvetrain to the cams, why?
1) Valvetrain and cams probably have been tried many times and you minimize running into issues with install height and retainer to valve seal contact.
2) Rocket springs and retainers are snap fit so you minimize issues with retainer wear. (don't know if Portflow are snapfit or not).
3) You'll have less issues with warranty (if you have to use it) if you match all components.

PF did not like the RM G1 springs.

Our new SL springs spec @ 55lbs on the seat and 180lbs @ 0.500" with 13mm lift capability when the installed heigth is 1.320" (Normal stock height).

Thank you for letting us clear up this "out dated" comment.
