gsr rods will be able to rev higher, unless you shot peed the ls rods or run forged ones.

I've honestly never understood what people were hoping to accomplish with swapping out the internals on a GS-R for LS parts.

Ideally, if you're looking for ~200whp that is, you can just freshen up the bottom end with ACL bearings, ARP hardware, and nicer pistons [whatever compression you want, I understand 11.5:1 is most common and effective on pump gas]. Then from there it's all head-work, as the valvetrain will be your weak spot.

Trying to get all the torque you can. We all know its hard to find in a honda motor.

So true. I'm biased though, my B20VTEC has loads of low-end power. Unfortunately the fun starts to die at 6800rpm, from stock Civic Si cams.

i was just wondering because my friends uncle put it in his gsr swapped da and it is pretty quick. what would the compression be if the type r pistons were put in with the gsr rods? would there be a big difference?

As i understand it you will be getting a longer stroke from an ls crank and rods. Although your suggestion did make alot of sence and is a good way to go.
