Engine Swap troubles
I bought a car with a blown block and replaced it with JDM long block. Changed oil pump and auto tensioner and it cranked up great and idled money. I backed it out for a test drive and the engine started gargling and then shuts off whenever I give it gas. I still have the OBD II and I am just trying to get this running for my daily driver. Any thoughts on what is wrong PLEASE help.
the guy I bought the car from must have taken it out. I will replace it tomorrow and get back with you guys. I have been in it since 8am this morning and I am just frustrated with it
You said you changed the Oil Pump and Tensioner after buying the motor, so it's safe to assume that timing was not set to TDC, you are about 1 tooth off from the crank and about 3 teeth off form the cams. It would start and idle, but when reved .. it would stall.
