Default LS crank shaft and rods in a GSR - Is it worth it?

I have been thinking about putting LS crankshaft and rods in my GSR with some oversized ITR pistons and was wondering if the people who have done it think its worth it. It would be going in my only car so I guess that I would have some down time and a shop would be doing all the work. So I have a few questions.
1) Is it worth it?
2) About how long would it take for a shop to do?
3) About how much would it cost for the machine work on the block and rods?

The machine shop took 2 days once i brought them all the parts. Valve job, resurface head, overbore, balance crank, press in pistons, install arp rod bolts, condition rods, deck the block, assemble block, cost around $600 for labor and machine work. I assemble head and am going to install the head once my custom cometic head gasket arrives in about a week.

1) Yes, it is worth it.
2) Time required for a rebuild about 1wk
3) 500 to 600 is about right.

you're building a sleeper ls-vtec. Some say its not worth it cause supposedly you can't rev as high on an ls-vtec as you could on a gsr or type r. But with balancing and arp rod bolts, i don't see why you can't rev to at least 8k rpm safely. Did you read my thread?

There's no replacement for.....

although it is only going to be 40-60cc total (sorry dont' feel like doing math)

more torque is rarely ever a bad thing.

I've got brand new RM Machines ITR 82mm pistons, hasting rings and wrist pins, and oem ls rods, Asking $185 shipped. all you'll need is an ls crank, mickey33 is selling a clean one here on H-T, already polished for like $150. That would bump you up to like 1870cc or so. I was gonna go 82mm but i found some ls rods w/ 81.5mm itr pistons already pressed in for cheap so i only went 81.5mm. This setup walks over type r's
