Default Integra brake light switch question.

if the brake lights stay on all the time, does that mean the switch could be broken? or if it was broke would the lights not work at all? the plastic piece on the switch is fine. been tryin to figure this out for a buddy for a while now. is there maybe a way to adjust the switch? sometimes the brake light do work and go on and off normally. somtimes they are just stuck on alllllll the time. thanks ahead of time.

I've seen it go both ways; either not working at all or brake ligts staying on all the time. Try replacing it.

It's most likely stuck as result of wear. I've noticed it's more common on East-coast cars that have spent most of their time in humid/damp climates. I know Nissan had an issue with the dust boots tearing prematurely and allowing moisture to get in and corrode the switch, I'm not sure if it's the same deal with older Hondas.
