Default external blaster need some imput

i have an msd cap with an extern blaster. my car didn't start this mornging and i checked it and my wires got pinched. the rubber that covers the wire looks like its been damaged by the heat. is there another way to wire the external blaster besides running the wire from inside the cap out??

Best bet would be to put the ignition back to stock. Many race cars even use stock ignition, and it'll no doubt be more reliable and not susceptible to the problems you describe.

i think both ways is reliable but i was just seeing is there another way to wire the external blaster. but i hear what you are saying. i want to do the external blaster because the spark is stronger and i do feel a big difference than when i had the stock internal blaster.

Internal blaster? You mean internal coil? Blaster is a proprietary name used by MSD for their external ignition coils.

Are you even using an MSD ignition box? Or just the MSD cap and external coil? If there is no MSD ignition box, then I'm curious as to what this big difference feels like. Even with the MSD ignition I don't think there would be much noticeable difference on an otherwise stock or nearly stock engine.

i'm not running a box. i will try and get pictures up later tonight when i try to figure out how to do the wires from out side. the wire from inside got pinch i guess when i put the cap on. i don't know how to explain it. but there is a difference in my car when i had the stock coil to when i changed it to the external ss coil. i'm not here to argue or anything i was just wondering is there another way to wire the external coil. everyone has their own opinion and i understand that. i don't like to argue and don't want to debate things. just looking to see if anyone wired their's differently. that's all.

I think you're supposed to make little notches or something in the edge of the cap when running wires from the inside to the outside.

Those wires going inside the Cap have to be there, no way around it.
Like Patrick said, you should have a notch in it for the wires.

And what about this "big" power difference with the ignition?
I've had it, took it off after it went to ****, and didn't notice any difference.

This is probably what you're using, right?

i made the notch the first time. when i had poblem starting this morning was when i found out that my wires were damaged and i was just wondering is there like another way to wire its besides from inside. mayb cut the yellow and black wire b4 it goes into the housing? like i said i felt a diff in my car. i don't know about anyone else's car. my car was a slug b4 not it pulls alot better than b4. not saying after i did the change it gave me 230whp. just saying it pulled a lot better than when i had the internal coil. yes that is the coil i have.

Not going to work, the two wires going inside the cap are the negative, and positive.
With the stock internal pack you would have, it has wires goes to the Same spot,
now since you have an External pack, that also needs to have wires going to those same two spots,
and since you can't fit your MSD pack inside the dizzy, it needs the wires to go Into the cap.

And for it seeming to have more power, your stock ignition might of been bad,
or going bad, being why you noticed a lot of difference in changing out to something new.

Get a pic of where the wires go through your cap,
the top right side is usually the best spot to notch it.

Notch it out more then if it's a problem, or maybe they're on too tight of an angle.

Maybe try seeing out it would work from the top right corner,
just seal up the hole around the wire with some silicone/soft epoxy.
