How to remove the front bumper off a 99 honda civic?
I just bought a grill kit for my 99 civic ex but it requires me to take the front bumper off, i bought one of those haynes manual and there horribel can anyone help me out?
Best thing I can tell you is to just look for them..
But if you really want to know, there's two on the bottom, 10mm.
Two on the sides connecting the fender 10mm.
and 6-7 clips in the radiator support.
It's pretty easy. Once you get most of them off, it's hella easy to find the rest.

yeah, one of the easiest bumper covers to remove. just make sure you get the top edge back into the clips under the headlights when you put it back on... a big gap there will take attention away from your slick new grille.

dont type so fast and actually spell out letters but there should be 7 CLIPS (black) above the grille and next to the headlights.
then there are two screws (one in each fender) and most have 2 on the bottom, though my bumper doesn't so i can't confirm those 2

there is a special tool that honda has that removes the clips easily without breaking them. but i doubt its cheap and sometimes they won't sell it to you.
i just like to use a small flat head and i rock it side to side in the slots on either side of the clip. that usually works very well and with few broken clips. because of how these clips are oriented upwards, not much gets stuck in the back of them. that's what makes these clips hard to get out.
and if you do break them, you can buy new ones. they are pretty cheap if you don't have to get all of them. like $1-2

Yea now that i know what clips where talking about i have taking them off with a problem before using a flat screw driver, so like the clips for your mud shield where can you get those from the dealership or can you just pick some up at a auto part store.

I'm pretty sure it's seven clips. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop them up.
The ones in the corners have always been Phillips tip screws for me too (not 10mm bolts).
Oh, and there's probably a Phillips tip screw on the front corner of the passenger side too. That's how it is on stock '96-'98 cars at least.

Went and took a look. You're right, it is a Phillips screw. Not a 10mm.
