overhating
i checked almost everyhting i just put on a brand new thermostat new resovoir and hoses new radiator and cap my car is still over heating could it be the water pump???
Ok, heres what you do. We can cover 3 grounds on this.
You will need a paperclip and two long pieces of wire that will reach from your battery to your fan shroud. But first lets start off by...
1. Pop your hood, remove your radiator cap (when cold) and start her up
2. Let her idle for 15-20 minutes and watch the temp. If it reaches close to mid point the fan should activate. If it does you have just "burped" the system and you are good on the fan activating. If it doesnt
3. Locate the thermostat housing. There is a brass colored piece that is connected to your wiring harness. That is the thermoswich, unplug the connector.
4. With your paperclip in hand, put each end of the paperclip into the female portion of the connector you just unplugged. If you hear a click and the fan activates then your relay is good and your thermoswitch is bad.
If the fan doesnt come on, but you hear a click...
5. Located the rad fan shroud and disconnect the connector. You will see the male portion of the connector with two prongs sticking out. One is (+) and one is (-). Identify each.
6. Run the wire you have handy from the +/- terminals on your battery to the +/- prongs on the connector. If the fan turns on then the fan is good and your problem lies with your thermoswitch.
Keep in mind that this should be done only if the fan doesnt kick in while you are idling in the driveway. If all of this works and you are still overheating, come back. GL

My car does have little black film. What is the problem then?

yes. But not at idle only runing at low rpm below 3K

If there is black film in your overflow tank it is most likely from a crack in your HG that is allowing exhaust gases to escaped and heat up the coolant. Run a compression test if you can, but most likely your head gasket is cracked/blown.
I had the same problem, and fixed it this past weekend.

has the system been burbed? i know it just came from the shop, that doesn't mean the morons over there know how to do their job, or do it accurate.
let the car cool down, open the radiator cap, start the car, add coolant until it is full, close cap up and see if it still overheats.
