1997 Accord Crankshaft Pulley Removal
Hi, this is my first post but thanks to this site I was able to get the crank pulley bolt removed. I was afraid it would break, however it did not. Plus this site gave me good insight that it must be tough. I finally got it with a 3/4 drive impact 1000ft/lb.
The day i got the bolt lose and just tightened it back up, so this weekend I plan actually change the timing belt. Are their any tricks to removing the crankshaft pulley? or does it easily slip off.
Most cars I have worked on in the past have bolt holes for a pully removal tool, I didn't notice any on the Honda although I should have looked better. I really need this job to go smoothly this weekend but at least it is a long weekend. I also printed the great write-up on doing this job to help me out.
Thanks in advacne,
Leo

the pulley just slides off. it may be a little stuck but it does not require any remover to get it off, just pull on it. Be careful to not lose the drive key in there, it may stay with the crank or it may come off with the pulley, just don't lose it.
If you have any other question just ask, I assume you already read my write-up so you should have a good idea of whats all involved.
