Default NRG Torque Damper.. broke on me. wtf..

Has ANYONE here had this problem? I had mine installed at a local shop to the instructions and everything, and the other week I heard a big snap, looked under the hood to check it out only to see that the damper snapped the "strut" part out of itself (if that makes sense) and fell out somewhere.

I tried contacting them about warranty's, no one ever answeres back, am i pretty much F'ed out of my $150?

I didn't know NRG made one for the 4th gen. Was it a custom install? Do you have pics of how it broke?

lmao! ahh man I love HT

Sounds like it pulled itself apart. Maybe a bad install? I don't think they are adjustable so it can't be that.

I know rukawa1one use to sell them. Maybe pm him.

I had one on my 4th gen for over a year with not a single problem...but then I sold it to Greg H and it broke on him pretty quick...

You have to make sure that things custom mounted like this are lined up properly and there's not any loads pushing/pulling on it at bad angles.

Are you sure it's broken? Because one of the rod end can be unscrewed from the internal if it wasn't tighten probably. Also, the stock washers inside the ETD are too small and will push through the bushings under heavy load. When it happens, I guess the rod end can separate from the rest of the components. I have replaced them with larger dia washers. See pics below for reference. Btw, you might want to resize your pic. It's too large to see anything.

Haha, it fell apart? Where did you get it from?

I'd contact NRG or rukawa1one and see if you can get the parts...look in the H-T classifieds.

and did we learn a lesson about ebay yet?

unless you bought it straight from them or through a distributor, i wouldn't give you a warranty. Just my opinion tho.

and seems is not the same as knowing.

what all ways of contact have you tried?
