Synapse Engineering 40mm W/G
I just wanted to post up and let everyone know about this W/G.
Let me start off by saying that Synapse has the BEST cust. service I have ever had.
As some of you know my car runs about 3 months out of the year, kinda sucks. The car was all done and Brauning started to tune the car. Well, guess what. The damn Turbosmart 38mm w/g could not respond as fast as the turbo tried to make boost. I had a 14lbs spring in the turbosmart and I was boosting 22lbs... I really didnt know what to do. My friend told me to look at Synapse.
So I called Synapse, they told me about the W/G and it all sounds good. I really couldnt belive all he said. No matter, I had no choice. I ordered the part and paid $250 shipped. Yes, I said $250 for a 40mm W/G!!! The shop sent my manifold to get teh w/g hole bigger, 38 to 40mm. Everything went on well.
Two days later the shop was trying to tune the car again on the new W/G. All I can say is WOW. The W/G only being 2mm bigger did its job. We set it to the 5lb setting and it didnt let it go past 6.5lbs. As some of you know it has a built in boost cont. With using the w/g only I went from 6lbs to 22lbs on w/g only!!! I cant tell you guys how great this w/g really is. If anyone needs a good w/g and boost cont for a DAMN good price look at this.
OH, BTW. I dont work for them, know them, and there not a sponsor. I just wanted to let you guys know of a good deal and a part that really does do what they say

You intitially used a 38mm wastegate and expected it to not creep? THat motor flows WAY too much to exit enough exhaust gas through a tiny 38mm, those are used for single cams :-p
What kind of manifold?
Why not upgrade to 44mm?
I'm running a 44mm with NO issues of creep on a full race manifold which is KNOWN to have creep issues. I don't think the problem was your wastegate but that's cool that the synapse one worked.

For the price you cant beat it. You also have to think about this, you get a free boost cont built in!

The problem was the w/g. When we hooked up a b/c to the turbosmart I spiked over 33lbs and that was with the b/c set all the way open.
Im running Inlines mani, thats why I can only go to 40mm. There mani is set up with the 2 bolt flange. We were going to remote mount the w/g and run a 44mm but we tried this and it works. The turbo we are running is a t3-t4 but t is using a P trim on the exhaust side. Its rated for 725hp

There w/g came with with 2 flange sizes, 2 springs and everything else you need

Thank you, I was too when I found out I didnt need to buy a $1500 manifold just because the damn w/g could not react that fast.
The point of the post was to let you guys know of a part that DOES work and its not alot of $$$

i was running a custom equal length w/ a precision SC61 15psi daily and 22psi high boost
im glad the WG works well for you... have you ever used synapse FPR? I used to have one and it took a shyt on me. the reason why im so curious about the WG. my fuel pressure wasnt stable and gas was coming out of the FPR. switched it to an AEM and never had that problem since.
