Default F'ing Swap!!!!!

So I have been working out all the bugs from my motor swap. I got rid of all the check engine codes. The motor has spark and fuel (check at injectors). The damn thing still won't run.
My buddy came over yesterday with a compression tester and all 4 cylinders read 27psi. At first I was super pissed because this motor was suppose to be a good motor. Then I began thinking what would cause this.

Usually when a motor is bad you get knocking, clanking, noise from it. The motor is as smooth as can be when cranking. Also when a motor is bad it is usually 1 cylinder that has extremely low compression, right????
What do you guys think?? It wierds me out that all 4 cylinders are reading the same extremely low compression.

Is the timing off slightly where a valve is opened just enough to leak out the compression and not hit the pison????

Any advice or help would be great.

Leon

Do a leak down test. With your compression gauge should be an adapter so that you can run compressed air via the spark plug fitting that you use for the compression check. Put cylinder #1 at Top Dead Center and give it some air. If there is significant leakage out the exhaust, those valves are bent and/or the timing is off. If it's the intake, then same thing. If this is the case, double check your timing. The easy way for #1 is to put a long screwdriver in the spark plug hole and manually turn the crank until the screwdriver comes to the top. Now, check the cam gears and see if the notches on the gear (9 o'clock and 3 o'clock) line up with the head (level with the head surface). If so, bent valves, if not, your mechanical timing is out of specification. Reset your mechanical timing and turn the motor with a wrench, spark plugs out to make sure you don't have any interference with the valves and pistons. If all checks out, put the spark plugs in and make sure the firing order is correct. Remember #1 is closest to the crank pulley and #4 closest to the transmission. Hopefully, if all is wired right, she'll go vroom and not boom.

pour a cap of oil into each spark plug hole, now the rings are actually lubricated then try a compression test

check your timing first... If its off youre not going to get any different values with oil or leakdown tests

i agree.. check ur timing.. and if that checks out.. do a leak down test.. and if theres still a prob pull the head off and investigate..
