stock vs stock, what would be faster in a 1/4 mile run..

and what about from a roll?

the 92-96 model prelude, from what i see has a h22a1 the vtec model.
and the 97+ model prelude has a h22a4, there is obviously a difference.. could anyone point out the differences in this and why the 4th or 5th gen is faster than the other.

 

stock vs. stock, I think the 4th is slightly faster.

modded vs. modded, the 4th gen still is faster, since OBDI motors respond better to mods.

4th gens are also lighter to begin with..

Your going to get a lot of people saying 4th gen hands down.
But both gens are great, it depends on what your goal is.

 

4th Gen is lighter and has better gearing. Has the same HP as the 5th gen too (disregard the 195 and 200hp ratings on the 5th Gen. They all were 190hp)

 

4th gen + h22 > 5th gen (h22)

 

Sounds like you're more into straight-line racing, which means the 4g would be a better match.

 

in a quarter mile, it depends on the driver.

stock for stock, from a roll, probably the slightly lighter, slightly shorter geared 4th gen.
