Default Which cams for stock bottom GSR?

I have a stock bottom end GSR wit the basic bolt ons and I am now ready to upgrade the cams but plan on keeping the bottom end stock. I don't really know much about cams or understand the numbers about them so I turn to you guys for help. I know that I would like to stick with Skunk 2 but I don't know which ones to get. I plan on getting better valve springs and flate face valves and a thinner head gasket to up the compression.

ITR/CTR no need to change springs and retainers if you run the stock redline. Anything else and you'll want to upgrade springs and retainers.

Suggestion is to look for dyno plots here on HT for similar setups and then decide.

I was in a similar predicament but I went with full ITR cams and valvetrain, I'll let you know how it pulls after I tune it...

i would go with bc3 or skunk stage 1, or blox a, cams since your upgrading valvesprings, i wouldn't get titanium retainers. Im running bc3 cams w/ supertech v.s. and stock retainers and keepers. If your set on getting a flat valves, the supertech flat valves are good for a 0.08 bump in comp. I spoke to a rep. from supertech and he told me the flat faced valves bump up comp. 0.005 per valve which is 0.008 for 16 valves.

If you didn't get them for free, were they worth the money?

supertech flat valves only bump up CR 0.08. Its a 0.005 bump per valve. Id do the 2-layer HG if you got the P2H clearance. Good luck
