Default Getting ready to paint. What should i look out for and any tips?

IF YOU DONT LIKE THIS PLEASE LEAVE NOW AND DONT COMMENT. KEEP UR NEGATIVES TO YOURSELF. Once that said ill go on and start.

Today i went out to buy some new OEM paint for my car. A friend reccomended me to PPG. so i went there. Gave em my color code and bought my 2quarts of paint, 1gallon of reducer,2 8oz bottles of hardener, 2 quarts of clear. This will be my first time paint a car. well ive done spray can nd stuff , but not air wise. Only reason i want to paint it myself is just to save some money.I got the Air compressor, air spraygun and paint. is their a tip i should know? i will be painting this in my garage. i will cover up the walls and have a fan ready. What tips do you guys give to a newb painting. What should i watch out for. any help would be greatful. thanks

Make sure you prepped well, stay the same distance away from the vehicle, good speed... follow flash times i guess

Why didn't you get MC161? It's a pretty good first timer's clear.

It's very forgiving and really hard to run.

remember to degrease all the surfaces and bleed your compressor to have it free of water, don't wanna get the nasty fish eyes in that nice paint

I dunno much about paint. the guy at the sop said this paint should be good enough for your first time.

Make sure that you mix everything correctly, not too much and not too little. remember, the paint will only be as smooth as prep work under it. make sure you wetsand the primer with 600 or 800 grit. allow it the dry completely before spraying the base. I forgot what kind of clear that I got but I should have gotten the stuff that you have. My clear was hard to spray, hard to get it to lay down smooth and not run. make sure you use a sanding block too, helps keeps things level.

I would of recomended the PPG DCU2021 for clear. It lays out really nice and is easy to spray. I haven't been that impressed with the OMNI line.

Me neither...I used some Omni clear on my car and I found it hard to get it to lay down smooth and its not all that resistant to dripping. It seemed like I couldn't get the atomization down correctly no matter how long I spent getting the pattern right.

omni is a generic line made by ppg. and yea the omni clear are shitty too imo but then again if you know what your doing and know how to adjust you gun correctly you should have no problem laying down any brand of clear.
