Default window motor/regulator

So about a month ago i replaced my motor and regulator which is one piece. It did work, but it moved slowly. i figured that would be because the window is being rubbed against on the rubber or whatever holds the window in place. I got some silcon lubriation stuff which is made for that sort of thing. i sprayed it on the track, on the moving motor parts (that i could get to) and the rubber that the window slides up and down on.

About a week ago the window would go down and then go up alittle bit and get stuck, and make like a growling noise. It DOES go up just to a certain point and it will always go down. To get the window to go up i have to help it with my own strength while pressing the window up button. when it reaches the top and it wont go up any more it makes that same noise. My drivers side was replaced about 6 months ago professional and it works OK. It has a hard time going up and down lately as well. I also recently changed my battery because it was corroded and i have a system so i figured maybe it wasnt getting enough power and that wasnt the problem.

Today i was thinking about taking the door panel off and looking to see what the problem is. Does anyone have any ideas? What should i look for? Is it something broke inside the motor? what are better ways to lube up the track and window frame?

Well it may be the lubrication on the track/rail on the inside. You might want to grease it up. I would open it and spread some grease. But the Accord 5th gen is well known to have a slow up on the windows.

The other cause may be the motor might be going bad. The mechanic prob replaced it with non-Honda part. But open the door panel. If you need help opening the panel, I think there is a thread on opening in the archives.

well the one the mechanic replaced is just slower now, may be because its 9545 degrees rigth now in florida and my windows are shrinking and expanding because of the heat so thats not such a big deal.

The passenger window is what im stuck on. I put it in myself and i spray quite a bit of lube on it, not really grease though. i guess ill have to take it all apart again and see about getting some better lube. Thanks

I've replaced my driver's side window on my 97 with a RockAuto.com part and it works good (first one had the cable break, but it had a warranty) but the passenger side is original and it goes up and down very slowly. I can tell that when it goes up, the window tips forward a little. What I would advise is to loosen the retaining bolts on the bottom of the glass and then pull the glass firmly back into the rear channel of the window frame, then tighten the bolts back down. The window may just be misaligned.
