s2k handling and other
hey my uncle has a 94 supra auto non turbo right now. he is thinkin of switchin back to the honda family and get a s2k. some stuff he was wondernig is how it handles compared to the supra. the supra handles like a dream but i never felt a s2k handle. i also know that the s2k's dont have a lot of torque. prolly almost as much as my lude has. how does that compare to the supra?
Well, I guess neither you or your uncle have driven any good handling cars. A stock (non-turbo and automatic) Supra handles pretty poorly. It's a heavy car, which isn't particularly quick. I was driving a friend's turbo (automatic) Supra for about a week and it handled much like my parent's 92 Lexus ES300 at the time. I'm not sure if the turbo models have a different suspension than the non-turbos. My parent's current stock BMW 325ci handles significantly better than the Supra, so that's not saying much for the Supra.
An S2000 handles much like a go kart. With it's engine placement behind the front wheels, it somewhat has the handling of a mid-engined vehicle. I encourage you to test drive one right away and you will see. It does not nearly compare to a Supra.

well the handling feels great well alteast the center of gravity is low on the car so it sticks to the road. well i guess we'll just have to do a test drive

lol why does everyone say that the S2000 handles like a Go-kart? Go karts pull enough Gs to break your ribs with the seatbelt.
The S2000 does, however, handle very well. It's a little gutless down low, but it more than makes up for it top end. There is no lacking of torque as far as daily driving goes. I Have an AP1, and driving it in traffic with the AC on is really no big deal.
My friend has an AP1 and a H22 94 prelude. He says that the H22 i like honda's "big block" lol. It does have a lot more down low torque. I think the H22 has more torque across the power band...a more gradual and even power curve.
The S2000 will most definitely be more fun than the supra...err...if you're looking for just a fun, nimble car to take corners with. I used to work at a toyota dealer, and i drove a supra in a "fun" manner when we got one traded in. But it was only for about a mile or so.
Tell your dad to go out and test drive an S2000. I'm sure he wont be disappointed.

From what i heard supras handle fine on big hi-speed turns, but not so much on the more precise turns.
I'm sure he will like the s2000 a thousand times more than the supra. I drove a manual non-turbo and it was pretty slow, although it did have a decent amount of torque.
